Nelson Merino uses Superfine Merino. It is this that creates the softness and natural elasticity that is so admired.
Keratin is the base protein that wool is built from. The fibre insulates against the cold and breathes in the heat while inhibiting the odours created by other thermal garments.
Nelson Merino makes a soft durable fabric which is both light weight and fire resistant.
The fineness of the fibre means you do not have the scratchy itchiness of other woollen products.
As well as its wonderful thermal properties Nelson Merino Wool looks great and is produced in New Zealand in fashionable styles and colours, creating garments to suit and enhance your lifestyle.
Garment Care
Nelson Merino garments are machine washable and we recommend the use of a wool detergent. Merino can also be tumble-dried on a cool setting.
Merino wool loves steam and a quick steam iron on a wool setting heat will have your garment looking like new.

Nelson Merino 200 gram (200gsm) garments, 18 microns (superfine), are a Jersey Knit producing a luxurious versatile garment providing the best in insulating qualities machine washable and can be worn as a soft thermal base layer as well as an attractive fashion top.
Nelson Merino Heavy Weight 320 gram (320gsm) garments are a Single Jersey Knit Super soft Rugged, Durable fabric which can be worn next to the skin, or as a fashion top garment as a compliment to our base layer.
